Viriya Thach has been working at Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) since 2019, where she currently holds the position of Data Governance Manager. Having held various key strategic positions focused on digital transformation, she is dedicated to improving digital services for Quebec citizens by leading initiatives such as BAnQ’s digital strategy, the redesign of its main website, the increased discoverability of BAnQ’s collection content, and the governance of BAnQ’s institutional data. Viriya also plays a key role in the feasibility study for the creation of a governmental and cultural data bank, aiming to promote the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence systems that take Quebec's cultural specificities into account. With over fifteen years of experience in the media, culture, and public service sectors, Viriya has actively contributed to digital innovation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and political sciences from the Université de Montréal and an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology.
